With the holiday season approaching, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank our members and particularly our Board of Directors for making the Coastal Dunes CWC branch better than ever! We’ve had great speakers, lots of learning opportunities, and most importantly, lots of fun. Speaking of fun, don’t miss our Open Microphone session on Saturday, December 3rd. Come and hear our members read from their work, and enjoy a festive holiday celebration.

Coastal Dunes Branch California Writers Club
I’m counting my blessings and am thankful for being a charter member of Coastal Dunes for the past eight years. Everything I know about writing, I learned here. Jack London, one of our founders said, “You can’t wait for inspiration, you have to go after it with a club.”
On October 22, I was honored by our Coastal Dunes branch to be the 2023 recipient of the Jack London Service Award. It was an awesome experience as the California Writers’ Club gave out twenty-two Jack London Awards and three Ina Coolbrith Awards. The plaque is gorgeous, and I will bring it along to our November 4 meeting at the Nipomo Library Community Room for all to admire.
